Kverneland Group has been awarded the prestigious Three Star “Agromek Prisen” award for the new GEOSEED solution at the Agromek exhibition in Herning, Denmark. Kverneland Group GEOSEED is a new GPS supported software for precision seeding developed by Kverneland Group Mechatronics, Kverneland Groups own competence centre for mechatronics and ISOBUS solutions.
Agromek is the largest agricultural exhibition in Northern Europe and is held every two years. The Agromek award gave a lot of publicity around the Kverneland Group stand, and the GEOSEED demonstration was an exceptional eye catcher during the whole exhibition period.
Danish prime minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen visited the Kverneland Group stand during the opening day and was welcomed by the team of Kverneland Group Danmark. Mr. Rasmussen was given a presentation of the new GEOSEED solution and the opportunities it opens for precision farming.
GEOSEED is a new software technology that can control each seed drill unit and the exact positioning of the seed. This new electric drive precision seed drill features a patented two-dimensional control system that allows seeding in parallel and diamond patterns. Working in combination with GPS signals, the system ensures more precise utilisation of resources, such as space and nutrients.
The Agromek Award Committee stressed the importance of the fact that GEOSEED can provide new opportunities for plant growers. Precision sowing ensures that each plant has the best possible growth space.
In addition to the award for GEOSEED, Kverneland Group also received a two-star Agromek award for the IsoMatch Tellus, the new virtual ISOBUS terminal, offering 2 interface screens in 1 terminal.
